We set out for the festival in the evening. It was really cold outside. At least for the tropical people like me. According to the website, the inauguration ceremony was to be held at Ward’s Lake. The entry fee was 10 bucks. Around 7 pm the crowd was slowly gathering at the lake. The ducks in the lake were quacking loudly. Most of the people were youngsters, better say, college students. Probably I was the only miserable woman who was accompanied by her family. Damn this suffocating loving family!!
But I was disappointed upon entering the place. There was a stage in the surrounding park and some small concert was going on. Seeing me upset dad said, “Want to eat dumplings?”

“No, I was expecting the K-Pop band they mentioned in the pamphlet.”, I angrily replied.
“Haha!! Don’t be sad. Maybe the program is cancelled.”, Dad replied. Then we sat on a bench and suddenly I found that the covers, performed in the concert were not that bad neither the scenery.
The surroundings of the lake were mesmerizing. I think moments create magic. That evening was magical. I mean the temperature was below 10-degree celsius. The moon was in its full glory. You could hear the music in distance. The hilly terrain and nature were probably inspired by Goddess Heketi. I didn’t miss the chance to click the pictures but unfortunately, my photography skill is not that good. So I would suggest you enjoy the scenery next year.
Anyway, We had nothing more to do that day. My maa, masi and uncle were tired due to the flight journey and I was also feeling bored. So we head back towards our hotel. We had a travel plan afterwards. Next day we would go to Cherrapunji. It is the wettest region in the world. So my uncle drowned into deep thoughts that should we buy raincoat or a new batch of umbrellas.

P.S : You think I had a full satisfaction on that day? Then my friend just listen, the eldest princess of Baghdad (My Maasi) was not happy with the location of the hotel and floor (though it’s a mezzanine floor) we got. And the youngest princess (my maa) was upset as that restaurant was selling alcohol.
