When I was booking the tickets, I asked dad, “Veg meal or Non-veg?”
“Of course Non-veg. What do they have on the menu?”, My dad giggled.
“One sandwich for 250 rs extra.”
“How much?? 250?? What do they put?”, dad screamed in awe.
“Dad, better we would do the breakfast from the subway at the airport. What do you say?”
“Not a bad idea.”, he nodded.
And at that prime moment, my mother roared, “I will make your sandwiches before we leave for the airport and stop daydreaming for snacks on the plane.
26 years ago, when they went to Shillong on their honeymoon, Shillong had only one helipad.
People first landed on Guwahati and by car, they reached to Shillong. So when I was booking flight tickets, dad asked, “Aeroplane in Shillong? Are you sure that its airport not helipad?” Anyhow on 13th November at 6 am I woke up and mother already had made 4 toasts with eggs. And my traitor, breaking the bro code was chewing that. Later he donated me 500 bucks to have a sub at the airport. At 7 am we set our journey.
Clutching our boarding passes while we were queuing up for the security check at the gate I was wondering how could the heroes break through all of the securities just to propose to the girls.
My whole life was a lie.

At the airport, two sisters were united. Then the troublemaker of our group (dad) kept jumping from this row to that row for the luggage weightage. And after body searches, I had to guard 3 handbags of two sisters while they were screaming, “Watch our bags” till they entered into the searching room.
It is tough to be a tour manager especially if you have to manage my father and hypertensive two sisters.
Meanwhile, I was finally able to grab a cup of coffee and sneaked into a momo shop.
Mom is always right about my greed.
The plane trip was short and the plane was shorter. I was sitting next to maa. The flight route was really beautiful. We flew above the land of Bangladesh. Gradually the flight entered into the sky of Meghalaya.
Meghalaya means the Abode of the CLouds and it was no lie. I have never seen so many clouds together welcoming the guests warmly. The clouds were taking different shapes and colours. All of the passengers suddenly went speechless. And I think that’s the beauty of Meghalaya.
We landed after a few minutes.
