The Warmth

“Tonight is chilly
Come closer to me.”
He spread his hand,
She crawled to him.

He hugged her tight,
She kissed his cheek.
Under the blanket,
The warmth was enough
To fall asleep.

Looking at her innocence
He sighed.
Smelling her sweet fragrance
He smiled.

“Surely you look like your mother.”
Mumbling to himself,
He looked at the night sky.
