And the sun sets in the west.
The sky was red as fire.
I see the birds returning to their nest.
And the squirrels running faster.
I see a man waiting for his girl.
Old people slowly sipping into the tea.
I see a mother carrying her child’s bag.
Young lovers holding arms; dipped into glee.
And I return to my abode
Big but lonely, furnished yet empty.
I grab another bite of toast,
And I make another cup of tea.
I sit at my balcony to watch those stray dogs.
The pet cat of neighbor meows at me.
And I scroll down the news feed,
To see people having their love stories,
I see them sharing their photos; stating
‘Found a partner for a life worth sharing’.
And I go to bed each night
Waiting for another sunrise,
Clutching the pillow, eyes full of tears
To make it warm enough as if
An embrace from a passionate lover.
